If you’ve seen the movie The Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy you probably shot your soda out your nose you were laughing so hard during this scene.
The family is sitting around the dinner table and the young boy ravenously eats his dinner. Gramma is excited and proud of him, “Look at him. He’s growing up.” Then she starts chanting “Hercules, Hercules, Hercules” and clapping her hands for him.
I think I just demonstrated that I’m no comedic genius when it comes to storytelling, but I can’t help but compare that scene with the current real estate industry and the strides it’s made on the internet.
While the real estate industry is by no means an infant, it’s taken some time to grab hold of technology unlike other industries who have jumped in barrels blazing.
But that’s changed, hasn’t it? All grown up (actually there’s definitely room for more growth!), online real estate is a Hercules player that’s largely been driven by consumer demand. Smart savvy companies were quick to move and are reaping the rewards of being early adopters.
In fact, the rewards are there for the taking for you, too.
Despite the benefits and rewards of marketing real estate online, you won’t have to go far to find some naysayer old-tradition hold-out to tell you, “You can’t sell real estate online.”
“People don’t buy a house online.”
Hop over to eBay real estate or to Craigslist and have a look. Folks are selling their homes directly online and they’re reaching buyers who they may never have if they’d relied solely on old-hat traditional methods.
What really comes in to play here are the 77% of home buyers that start their home shopping process online.
What’s important to understand about this 77% is they go online to do research and gather information before they contact an agent.
While some may not be buying online, they’re definitely doing their research there. This stage presents an awesome opportunity for you to become their most trusted advisor… and future Realtor. I’ll show you how… and ways to automate this process.
“Too difficult to compete and get traffic to your website.”
Too difficult to compete compared to what, competing against all the other agents in your city?
To be fair, if all you do is throw up a website and expect it to work for you then yes, it’ll be near impossible for you to compete.
But you didn’t just get your license then sit back and wait for success did you? No, you started building momentum by doing litle things at first. Eventually you made your first sale.
We’re going to take the same approach with your website and other internet marketing methods. When leveraged together, it actually becomes quite easy to not just drive traffic to your website, but to also convert that traffic into prospects and buyers.
“I don’t have time for the internet. Real deals are made face-to-face.”
Most deals are made this way. Face-to-face with a handshake. In fact, most of your time should be spent with folks who are hot to buy and ready to pull the trigger.
The real key here is to make sure you’re spending your time with these hot clients, not walking around searching crowds for them.
Let’s face it, when you’re handing out business cards to folks who aren’t interested in buying or who think they might buy 6 months to a year from now, you’re wasting your time and your money.
Heck, you only make money from folks who buy, right? It’s with these folks you should be spending your time with.
What if you had a system that could capture the “thinkers” and automatically nurture them and filter out those who are most likely to buy so that you could get with them face-to-face?
I’ll be showing you how to create this kind of system and it’s far easier than you may think.
“I just don’t know what to do online to be effective.”
I remember a day when just trying to understand how all these pages across the internet were connected. Frankly, it boggled my mind.
So, if you’re unsure of what to do then you’re in good company because you’re not alone. You’ll be learning online marketing methods and techniques that work like gangbusters and are easy to implement.
You’ll also be exposed to some advanced strategies for you to adopt once you get the basics down.
Through HomeStomper I’ll be showing you how to really succeed marketing and selling real estate online.
Here’s the thing: while other Realtors buy into the the myth that “you can’t sell real estate online” you’ll be growing into the Hercules of your market.
Go ahead and post a link to your website in the comments below… show the others that you can sell real estate online.
