Part of the Offline Traffic Tips For Your Real Estate Blog series.
When folks think of website traffic they tend to keep their mind focused on various online methods of driving visitors. What about driving traffic to your blog from offline sources?
This post marks the first in a series on driving offline traffic to your real estate website.
More than a card
Offline, you’ve got your business card with all the data for folks to contact you. Online, you’ve got your social media profiles that encourage folks to visit your blog. Some folks mix the two, putting social network addresses on the business card to boost online traffic.
All in all, a good move. But isn’t there a better way to drum up online traffic from offline sources? Glad you asked…
Let’s start out with every agent’s most basic tool… the business card.
Glamor ain’t cool
Now, do yourself and the public a favor and ditch the glamor shot oriented design. You want your card to stand out, right? yeah, ditch the cookie cutter glamor shot mold and go for something more unique and… you.
Getting back on topic, to drive offline folks to your online hubs be sure to include the most relevant URLs (email, website, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and not every single one. This should be obvious, right?
Ad it up
What’s not so obvious is that your business card is more than just a place to store your preferred contact details. It’s a bloomin’ ad! Which is why you should ditch the glamor shot – too self-absorbed to function as a good ad, anyway.
See, rather than just listing your web address on the card you should be telling folks why they should visit your uber-cool website. Just because you list your site doesn’t mean they’ll visit. Give them a reason.
In fact, make use one side of your card to specifically promote why folks want to visit your site.

Notice folks aren’t directed to the home page? Nope, they’re being sent directly to the goods where you should also be encouraging folks to subscribe to your newsletter or some other lead capture device.
The ROI of your business card
Now, that URL on the business card? Only use it on your business card and nowhere else. This way you can track the activity that your business card generates.
So, there you have it… a more effective use of the business card to convert offline eyeballs into online traffic and leads.
What are some other business card tips you know of?
