How Well Do Your Blog Posts Convert? This Simple Plugin Will Help.

Real Estate Blogging

Many folks maintain the idea that you publish posts to your blog in order to attract visitors and business. That’s only partially true…

Your posts should not only attract, they should convert. Your blog posts should be an active part of your conversion process. Unfortunately, that’s where many fall short.

See, you’re not a blogger. You’re a Realtor who blogs. Your goal: convert business from your blog. And that means not just writing words to publish but actually leveraging all that content space to create opportunities where a visitor can convert.

In this post you’ll learn how to use a very cool Wordpress plugin to create conversion opportunities throughout your posts.

Blogging for Conversions

Before we get into the plugin and how to use it go ahead and take look at your own blog. Chances are you have some really good posts… but that’s all they are.

The good news is it’s monkey-stoopid simple to convert “plain” posts into “lead gen” posts.

If someone’s engaged with your content then they’re probably willing to take an extra step along the path to becoming a client and evangelist. So, throughout your post, give them every opportunity possible so that it’s monkey-stoopid simple for them to take that step.

That’s where the Sniplet plugin comes in to play…

How to…

Sniplet allows you to “dynamically replace text in your posts with text that may be defined elsewhere”. What this basically means is that you can create a piece of code (like a subscription form, button, image, etc) once, assign a “sniplet tag” to it, and then whenever you use that tag in a post or page the code will be inserted instead.

At this point you’re probably seeing the possibilities here. One use is to create an email subsciption form once, then it’s easy to insert it in the middle of your blog posts to capture folks as they read.

Since Sniplet also executes PHP code you could also create a sniplet that’s a property search form and insert it smack in the middle of your blog post.

Frankly, the number of ways to use it are wide open and it’s damn easy to use, too.

From the control center you can create a number of sniplets for use throughout your blog.

sniplet_controlcenter

It’s as simple as pasting in the appropriate HTML.

sniplet_newsniplet

From the post edit screen simply insert the sniplet tag into the body of your post.

sniplet_postedit

And the plugin automagically replaces the tag with the HTML code you defined in the control center.

sniplet_final

Download the Sniplet plugin here and give it a go.

Now, instead of being a blogger and simply publishing words… be a StomperAgent and use your content to convert readers. Because content is good, but content that converts is better.

awesome plugin, quick and easy and looks pretty straight forward.

Since Sniplet also executes PHP code you could also create a sniplet that’s a property search form and insert it smack in the middle of your blog post.

this is huge if you don’t have an IDX provider that supplies a little widget to embed.

does the plugin also work in the sidebar?

@Jason Sandquist – i mostly use the plugin to insert frequent or extensive code into posts/pages so haven’t tried it out in the sidebar. being that the sidebar is pretty much standard across the site i’d think you could get away with hardcoding whatever you need into the sidebar anyway, no need for the plugin but it’s still something to try.
